Franklin Parkohóláz / Budapest, Hungary / PARKSAFE 580
Building into the structure: Parksafe for public parking "Franklin Parkolóház", Reáltanoda utca 5., Budapest, Hungary.
The idea of creating 200 public parking places within the space of 300 square meters on the off-street side of a landmarked building as part of a renovation project was recognized with the 2009 EPA Award, presented by the European Parking Association. State-of-the-art technology guides the driver through the automatic city parking garage. Tickets and barriers are a familiar sight and facilitate the parking process. Electronic signs tell the driver to which entrance gate he or she should drive. Cameras record an image of the license plate so that the car can be easily found and retrieved from one of the four towers even if the ticket is lost.
